DJ GEORGE J.

George Jackson aka DJ George J.

As the former label head for Silk Entertainment (owned by Steve "Silk" Hurley), George learned the executive side and the creative side of the dance music industry. Opportunity called as George remixed Ann Nesby’s version of “Lovin’ Is Really My Game (George's Deep Lovin' Dub)”. While at Silk Ent., George also assisted Hurley on the remix of “Soul Shakedown” by the late, great reggae legend - Bob Marley, which was released on Koch Records (Canada), licensed on numerous compilations world-wide, and also Grammy nominated in the Best Remix category, in 2002.

That same year, George co-produced a couple of tunes. One of those productions, "Call My Name" by Sharon Pass & Greg Gibb, originally released on his own label Ruff N' Tuff Records, and later licensed to legendary German label: Peppermint Jam (UK/Germany), remixed by Richard Earnshaw, Shik Stylko, & Syke 'N' Sugarstarr and then many compilations internationally.

2005 saw the release of George's UK dance anthem “Never Gonna Let You Go” (ft. Sevynn). After being signed and released on Mel Medalie's legendary Champion Records (UK), it peaked at #6 on the UK Club Charts and went into pop radio rotation in the UK; including the radio shows of Pete Tong, Judge Jules and The Slammin Boys.

In 2006, George co-wrote "It's Alright" by Redsoul & RaShaan Houston (Generate Music) with dance icon, CeCe Peniston and house music veteran, RaShaan Houston. George was also one of several featured producers on the Chicago LP & DVD, joining forces with many other Chicago House Music hitmakers (past & present) and forming one of the greatest house music collaborations of all-time. His production of “Another Day” featuring the legendary house diva - Xaviera Gold can be heard on the Chicago LP.

George also co-produced "Love Don't Take Over" (MG Select ft. CeCe Peniston). It was then remixed by the late, great Frankie Knuckles & Eric Kupper - collectively known as Director's Cut. Released in 2014, it was destined for greatness, as it raced up the charts! In only 6 days, “Love Don't...” reached #1 on the Traxsource Soulful House Chart and two days later, it topped at #1 on the Top Singles chart, as well.

George has also worked in the studio with the great, dance music legend, Colonel Abrams. However, prior to the untimely passing of Colonel, the two collaborated and George produced a remake of Colonel's 1992 release: “Good Things (2021 Remake)”. On the remake, George features a smooth, yet funky guitar solo and of course Colonel's iconic vocal, reminiscent of his “Trapped” & “Music Is The Answer” sound.

George has worked with some of the best names in the industry! His songs have been signed and remixed by some of the most outstanding labels and remixers in the world! Currently, he is also in the studio working on his album. His album will feature remixes of previous releases of his.
