DJ Mourad continues his prolific release schedule for 2023. The 100% vinyl addict continues his digital work with Nice & Nasty and drops Slut Trax EP featuring Tekfonk and Heaptek, which as the use of the word Tek suggests belongs to the techno school, in particular the Detroit school but the vibe will crossover from techno club to house party as Slut Trax is pure pumping club tunes.
Slut Trax will come in two packs. Part one will feature mixes by Mourad whilst part two will feature some remix action.
Mourad started djing in the mid-eighties. His mixing style and musical knowledge have taken him all over Europe and all the way to Asia. Born and raised in Tunis, Tunisia where he sharpened his skills by playing hip hop and electro but also soul, reggae and rare groove. His love for soul and jazz came from an eclectic father who was and still is very serious about his music. As a DJ Mourad plays a blend of Detroit techno and deep house. His sets are known for being diverse and highly loaded with soul and funk. He has played alongside people like Larry Heard, Farley jack master funk, Derrick May, Juan Atkins, Alexi Delano, Dimitri from Amsterdam, Joel Mull , Cari Lekebusch , Subject 13, Alex Reece, Ivan Smaghe , Alton Miller, Jeff Mills , Damon Wilde, and 4 Hero to name a few and also show his broad range of musical taste; however, Detroit is always in his heart and his music never in the charts.
Tekfonk and Heaptek are pure Mourad creations, a real techno vibe with plenty of soul, plenty of funk, melody and whilst a homage to Detroit and the influence of UR, Derrick May, Carl Craig and Eddie Fowlkes is there to hear it is also a European hybrid that Mourad and the the like's of Vince Watson, Fabrice Lig, Derek Carr and Dave Angel have been championing since the Detroit boys lets us join the party, and you know what every party needs? is some dirty beats, party boys, nasty girls and slutty trax.
