United by the experimentation with melodic techno sounds, Gonzalo Bautista (former keyboardist of the Spanish post-rock band Autumn Comets) and Nacho Urdiaín (audio engineer) are OCKTIVE.
The Madrid-based live electronic duo launched his first release one year ago, 'Gamma', a four-track 20-minute EP crafted from nourishing textures that result in time-faraway vivid soundscapes. Now, under the umbrella of Faneca Music, a record label known for endorsing new underground electronic music, they release 'XY', their second four-track EP.
'XY' is a 16-minute travel to the 80's and the 90s genres. A sign to invoke nuances such as primitive house and 2-step beats. While 'Gamma' showed a more fiery tempo, 'XY' leans towards more organic and warm sounds and the accurate use of samplings, something very common in the United Kingdom scene.
